Emma's Stash: Details coming soon!
Holly: I've been sewing and knitting almost as long as I can remember but I've only started working on more complex techniques within the last few years. I dabble in historical reenactment; my particular historical clothing interest is late 14th century English bourgeois women's wear. I'd like to make everyday clothing but I haven't managed to finish anything yet. I'm a doll collector and I have a lot of fun making things for my dolls. I've tried quilting, crocheting, naalbinding, spinning, and lucet cord making as well as nearly every type of non-fiber art I can think of. I'd like to learn weaving and embroidery. I sometimes struggle with spatial reasoning but I have a steady hand and a mean eye for detail.
Holly's Stash:
- Fabric: Linen, wool, and a little bit of silk, purchased for making historical clothing. A modest amount of cotton, mostly fat quarter prints but some larger pieces purchased for making modern clothing. Small sheets of wool felt. A few scraps of synthetic fiber.
- Yarn: Worsted-weight synthetic yarn, worsted-weight wool and wool blends, and worsted-weight cotton, almost all given to me and not associated with particular projects. Scraps of wool blend sock yarn; I've made socks from all my sock yarn and I'm down to the leftovers! A small handful of other types purchased for/with specific patterns.
- Other fiber: An intimidatingly large supply of cotton embroidery floss inherited from my late grandmother. Polyester filling. Some undyed tops for spinning.
- Other: Beads, Perler beads, polymer clay. Paint, paper, canvases. Rocks. A few craft kits of various types. Probably some stuff I can't remember right now.
- Noteworthy notions: An enormous collection of buttons inherited from my late grandmother.
