State of the Stash

Holly: In an effort to motivate each other to work on projects regularly, one feature of this blog will be short updates on everything we've worked on in the past week, posted on Sundays. Emma is frighteningly prolific and I'll just do my best to keep up. Here's what I made this week:

Handmade Stuff
  • Noodlehead open wide zippered pouch x2, both modified to be flat. These are a belated birthday present for my sister, who said she wanted flat pouches for purse organization.
  • Cable organizer in matching fabric. It will be part of the same gift. It's my first attempt at this pattern and hopefully my sister doesn't mind that it came out a little sloppy.
Emma: I've been coming down off my cable organizer high and working on other projects this week:

  • Spinning some 2-ply fingering weight yarn out of 2 braids of Malabrigo Nube (pictured). My mom brought me the fibre last time she visited, and the colours got me excited about spinning again.
  • Weaving a practice warp. I need to get it off the loom so the loom is free for the class I'm taking next weekend on weaving tea towels. I had warped the loom months ago but didn't get very far with the weaving. The process sped up considerably after I figured out that I had the heddle block attached backwards.
  • Bunting. I cut out some triangles, but haven't done anything else.
